asus rt-ac5300 wifi range worse than my old 100$ router ??

feedback :

the new builds of ddwrt having some issues with the wifi.
i installed the latest asuswrt-merlin.

the connected device list still broken ? seriously still broken from 2017 ?
+asus didn't even try to fix the qos ?
+ range still bad with the asus firmware ;)
