ASUS RT-AC68 & 4G LTE USB Modem

As I prepare to move into a new residence, I am faced with the reality that cable Internet is not available yet. I have been researching 4G LTE routers but then wondered if I could use my already existing ASUS RT-AC68 router and just plug a 4G LTE modem into the USB port for my Internet connection.

Has anyone done this and if so were your results satisfactory? Was any tweaking necessary? I am already running RMerlin's firmware if that matters.

the Huawei E398 is working for me. Speed down 100mbit and up 45 mbit.

The Huawei E398 is exactly the USB 4G LTE modem that I was planning to use. Thank you for letting me know you're encountering no issues with it.
