I had to uninstall it anyway. Every time I booted up my PC it created a new NordLynx network interface which was rather annoying. So it had to go.

You know that you can disable automatic connection at boot up. The NordVPN for windows app is highly configurable.

Going OT: Since your online I don't remember how to start a new thread... there is nothing on the GUI that stands out obviously to do that. I have a question and don't remember how to start a new thread.

Automatic connection wasn't the issue. The app wasn't even running at boot time. Probably some sort of incompatibility with Windows 7. Anyway, I wasn't sufficiently interested in using it to warrant any further troubleshooting.
