Really, only 128 MB RAM - so no Entware & other tooling to be used on this limited device? :(

Asus doesn't just sell 300$+ high end models. There's also a very strong market for lower priced products. This looks like the successor to the RT-N65.

Yep, should be named AC57U - AC85U suggests that it's part of the high end 80s series... :confused:

Is the processor used here better/worse than the processor in the RT-AC56U (other than a nominal 10% 'overclock', from the factory)?

It's a 4x4 device - all the RT-AC8x models have 4 streams. So it's properly labeled.

Based on what I see from models released these past few years, RT-AC/RT-N6x have three streams, and RT-AC/RT-N5x have two streams.

It's not overclocked, it's not ARM cpu.

I know it wasn't overclocked. Just in comparison to the RT-AC56U it is (800MHz vs. 880MHz). :)
