Asus RT-AC87U

I currently am using the Asus RT-AC66U and is doing a solid job but am looking for something with just a little more power to get a better signal in the back corners of the house. I usually get one to two bars there with this router. Would the 87U provide a little extra boost?

I have been doing some reading and it seems that there are some issues with the RT-AC87U. I think I will just wait for the next batch of routers that will be released unless somebody can suggest otherwise.
