Note (from me): Despite the fact that the list of fixes is small, a relatively large increase in the build number for MediaTek models suggests that the changes were most likely more significant. Indeed, on previous firmware versions I had periodic problems with the GeForce Now cloud gaming service, when there were latency spikes and the stream quality dropped for a couple of seconds, but in this version everything works much better (spikes are minimal, no stream quality loss).

I updated to the latest version today. I'm gonna wait and see how it goes. The previous firmware was pretty stable, but after a few months, the device started having some issues with the Wi-Fi connection, so I decided to update.

You mean that you updated to this, 33903 version? Or a newer version is already available via the router GUI? Users of other MediaTek models, such as TUF-AX4200 and TUF-AX6000, have reported issues with this version. However, a couple of days the newer version 3.0.0.4.388_33911 was released for TUF-AX6000 (should become available for other models soon), but based on the reports, it looks like it did not fully fix the issues introduced in 33903.

I meant I updated to 33903. It's been a day and so far, no issues.

I ended up reverting to firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_33405. That's the most stable one for now.
Looks like a new firmware version is expected soon, as it was already released for TUG-AX6000. I hope that it will somehow fix this stability issue with 33903.

A beginner can't set it up in 15 minutes...
Don't be a beginner :p It's not that difficult, actually. Personally, I would never go back to stock firmware. But I don't want to force anything on anyone. Just wanted to give you guys a better alternative, seeing that there are some complaints regarding instabilities with stock firmware lately.

I've also had the issues with the 903 version that it seems many other people have been having. I've spent several hours troubleshooting, messing around with wireless settings, ipv6, trying out new DNS servers, resetting device etc. The last place I looked was here at these forums, and... I cannot believe ASUS managed to drop the ball with firmware yet again  It's even worse that they've released the 911 version, which - although I haven't tried it myself - it seems does not fix the glaring issues.

I downgraded to 407 as soon as I found the cause for the issues here on these forums, which is so far running OK. But I see the 405 version being suggested in this thread as the best one to stick with for now, so I was wondering if that version is the generally recommended version until later firmware - hopefully actually fixing the problems - becomes available?

I think versions 405 and 407 are pretty stable. That said, you'll still need to reboot the router occasionally - maybe once every few days or once a week. But overall, it's been running stable for about six months now.;)

What issue are you having that requires a reboot that often to resolve?

Tell us how we do it?!
