Asus rt-ax82u dropping devices

Not real tech savvy, but here goes....

Replaced my ten year or so tp link with the above router on Friday night. Saturday morning, noticed one eufy cam was disconnected. I tried reconnecting through eufy app and said connection failed. Power cycled router, came back online.

Yesterday morning, 2 eufy cams were offline (but the furthest with the weakest signal was still connected). Me and wife's cell phones were not, and we could not see the ssid when searching networks.

Other random iot things like smart lights and outlets dropping, do connect after power cycle on router. Not sure how long they stay connected for.

Super annoying, never had any of these issues with my tp link.

Not sure where to start, used wifiman and the channels I use are quite stacked in my neighbourhood, although I was using the same default channels on tp link.

Any advice is appreciated!

Welcome. Please indicate firmware version to help others assist.

Some basic troubleshooting suggestions since it appears (I assume) you are having 2.4Ghz WiFi client issues.
Set the Authentication method to WPA2-Personal not WPA2/WPA3.
Set the WPA Encryption to AES if it has more options than AES.
Set the Channel Bandwidth to 20Mhz.
Set a specific Control Channel. Use the common channel 1, 6, or 11.
Avoid using special characters (including spaces and underscores) in SSID names or WiFi passwords. Try using shorter password lengths if using a very long password.

Keep an eye on the router's system log to see if it indicates any specific issues with the wireless clients.

Quite a few are occasionally experiencing problems with IoT devices on the 2.4Ghz band with newer Asus routers. There are a number of other discussions where people report similar issues with IoT clients that can be found using the forum search feature.

As usual @bennor nails the response ;-). I was actually thinking the same thing.
I’d suggest trying 1 and 2 only first though, restart then move down the list if still problematic.

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to list my firmware when I get home. A couple questions:

I just made the ssid and passwords the same as what I had set up on the tp link, there is a space in them but they did work fine on old router. Is this an asus problem?

The log has a ton of info in it, I looked last night. Is there something specific I should be watching for?

My phone is set to 5ghz, and it was dropped yesterday and could not see either the 2.4 or 5 ssid when searching networks.

I did search some other threads already with this issue, one person fixed it by enabling roaming assist they said, but they were not using mesh which as I understand is for mesh? Mine was enabled by default, set to disconnect devices lower than - 70. Should I be disabling that since I have a single router?

Provide the firmware information and that may help people address your additional questions. Providing more detailed information will help too. Is this happening on both WiFi bands? Are you using Guest Network WiFi bands? Are you using any sort of WiFi extender or AP node with the Asus router?

Firmware is 3.0.0.4.388_25030

Yes both bands, most iot are 2.4 but as I said my phone is connected through 5 and it was dropped too.

No guest network, no extender or anything fancy, just the router and modem.

Should mention my isp is very reliable, local company no one has probably ever heard of.

Not sure what other kind of details I can provide, just drops devices here and there but they all come back with a power cycle. If there is something specific I should be mentioning please let me know!

@Dominionato, might help if you post readable screenshots of your wireless settings for others to review.
If you continue to have issues you might want to perform a hard factory reset followed by a manual configuration (do not import a saved router.cfg file). Also if you have a USB drive attached, disconnect it before performing a hard reset and don't reattach until you've verified the router as operating correctly. Sometimes a hard factory reset can fix weird issues that sometimes crop up.

Edit to add: Also check your router for new firmware updates. Asus indicates a newer firmware for your router:
