This model is CAD200 in Canada right now or about USD144 equivalent. Excellent price if someone is interested. Check BestBuy and Canada Computers for availability. I still see it as best price/performance option with 3006 firmware support.

The 3006 support and it's price is what I was looking at... Maybe look a bit deeper in US for better price.

ADD: That does seem to be the best price I can find in US. Several online vendors offer it at that same price in US so nothing special.

You are running Asuswrt-Merlin though. This router has 3006 stock Asuswrt only. Asuswrt-Merlin for it is 3004 based.

Well that's cooling my enthusiasm.

I haven't been following the threads like I used to, but I do now seem to recall that some were thinking about bypassing the AX86U for the AX88U for that exact reason. The AX88U was on the Merlin 3006.

No, 3006 Asuswrt-Merlin is currently available for select BE-class routers only.

All AX-class RT/GT supported models are on 3004 base and it may stay this way for quite some time.

For guaranteed 3006 Asuswrt-Merlin support - look at RT-BE86U or RT-BE88U as a starting point.
