After 4 hours from the update, the system seems to be more stable, but the router still only uses channel 36 (I have it set to 160 MHZ channels) on the 5GHZ frequency and I have a maximum disk read of 40 MB\s instead of 80MB\s

auto updated, I didn't even notice there was a new firmware version. Seems stable...

I have setup with RT-BE86U and RT-AC86U. Wifi mesh was really unstable with newest fw and there lot of different errors at syslog. Router even rebooted completely. I tried to do factory reset, but that didn´t help. I sent bugreport to Asus.

I tried to install Merlin, but after ~10 hours I started to see some communication unstability with mesh node(RT-AC86U). That have also latest fw. I will try to change older fw for that too.

There might be an issue with be with the GPL, at least the one Merlin got. Merlin has an update for his alpha.

OK, no worries; just wanted to point that out if you had installed the current alpha, as I saw the issue arise in the Merlin alpha thread.

My setup (RT-BE86U & RT-AC86U) seems stable with Merlin firmware. I had to change RT-AC86U firmware version to one which was released spring. Latest asuswrt fw wasn´t stable even at node.
