- Release note -

Important: After installing this firmware, we strongly recommend performing a factory-default reset to activate every new security adjustment.

Security Enhancements:
- Password Policy Upgrade – Minimum 10 characters with at least 1 letter, 1 digit and 1 special symbol, and no consecutive identical characters; hardens defense against brute-force attacks.
- HTTPS on 8443 – Management interface now served over TLS by default.
- UPnP Disabled – Universal Plug and Play starts in the off state for reduced surface exposure.
- AiCloud Authentication Hardening (CWE-287) – Added layered verification.
- Authentication Logic Refactor – Removed redundant code paths for a lean sign-in flow.
- Memory Safety Guard (CWE-476) – Introduced null-reference protections across critical services.
- Enhanced IPsec Parameter Validation – The existing input checks have been hardened.
- Data Exposure Mitigation (CWE-200) – Reinforced controls on sensitive pathways.
- Detailed Audit Trails – Expanded logging within the authentication module.

System Improvements:
- Connection Stability – Core algorithms refined for steadier links.
- Scheduling Accuracy – Timed tasks execute reliably under PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP WAN modes.
- Client List Maintenance – Resolved an issue that prevented offline devices from being removed from the client list.
- SFP+ Port IPTV Support – Added IPTV configuration support on the SFP+ port.

I have a BE88u as a mesh node on my network. I installed the firmware through my router web GUI successfully. I also performed the recommended factory reset. After 24h, no noticeable changes to the units operations.

reverted back. 2 redo's I have had enough. I'm back up and running now. Some may find new release unstable, as I do.

My router apparently downloaded this on it's own while I was still up at night. When it came back I couldn't log in. I got a QR code prompt to download a certificate. I then saw that there was a new firmware, but as someone already mentioned it was the wrong router on the product page lol.

Anyways, I also have a question. They also updated the app to show system logs finally. In there I now noticed that the beginning of the logs has a lot of mentions of "MerlinSupport". I bought this router last year and I have only upgraded the firmware through the Asus app. I haven't flashed it to Merlin so I was kinda surprised to see so many Merlin mentions while it booted up. Is this normal?

Gave this another shot this weekend. Running well, corrected some settings. No issues to report. Not like there were none during reset/redo.

If any attempt setting up new firmware didn't go well I started over. It appears 192.168.50.1 is gone? One or two attempts I couldn't find login/setup page. Another a red light issue. Rebooted cable modem to correct red light during setup. Cleared cache to obtain set up page. We should have option to exclude 2.4gz entry. I don't use it.

Other than this it is pretty good. No errors, smooth and fast. Cheers

I had a lot's of issues with the update to this version first it won't recognize the ETH WAN 10GB port as 10 only connect as 5Gbps, I don't suspect the ISP ONT because after I had change from WAN ETH to SPF+ EHT adaptor it connects to 10Gbps and the strange part is that the ETH WAN converted to LAN works at 10 Gbps when connected to internal Network. I had the same issue even with factory reset and redone the WAN connection.

Another dumb issue is that QR code display at weblogin page even with certificate installed.
