Asus RT-BE96U limited to ~100mbps after 3-5+ days (local area network testing only, no Internet)

I have been using an Asus RT-BE96U router since they came out a year ago or so-- as an access point.
With some recent firmware updates I have noticed after 3-5+ days the performance drops from 800mbps+ to 100mbps up/down this is on the local area network only (excluding the Internet as a variable here)

When router first starts: 800-1300mbps:
Testing with iPhone 16 Pro Max -> Asus RT-BE96U (AP mode on 10GbE) -> Linux Machine (Open Speedtest Server/local)

3-5+ days later: 100mbps up/down:
Testing with iPhone 16 Pro Max -> Asus RT-BE96U (AP mode on 10GbE) -> Linux Machine (Open Speedtest Server/local)

Has anyone seen this sort of issue with this router and degradation over time with the latest F/W?

When I turn off the Asus RT-BE96U and revert back to my Asus RT-AX86U it is rock solid without any issues for days/weeks.

What is the wireless environment from neighbors and other devices in the house ?
Do you have another wireless client to test with - another PC or laptop - instead of the phone ?

Since it is in AP mode, can you revert back to the last known good firmware for testing ?

Have you considered using IPERF3 with the /P switch for testing Linux machine to Linux machine ?

Sounds like a port is downgrading to 100 Mbps. Try replacing the Ethernet cables, particularly between the modem and the router.

There are a lot of wireless devices in and around this area (however the issue appears to occur consistently after 3-5+ days with the BE-96U)

Yes, the same issue occurs on a Windows 11 PC w/ PCI-e Wi-Fi 7 card and M1 MacBook Pro.

In recent versions ASUS mentioned we can no longer roll back once a certain version has been reached, I want to be careful not to brick the router.

I can run this but Open Speed (https://openspeedtest.com/) test hosted locally on the 10GbE Linux machine does corroborate the slowness I am seeing.

Good catch! I will replace the cable and re-test to see if this issue recurs.

See if the issue follows the cable. It can be the port. Try a different port also and see which way the issue follows.
