Hello.
I've just got my ASUS RT-N56U today and I were impressed by the stability and performance of this device, that is until I started streaming media from my USB Harddrive connected to the Router.
After about 5-6 minutes, when I stream media and play it in XBMC from my USB Harddrive it just freezes, and if I quickly go out and look at my Mapped Network Devices - it's trying to re-establish connection to it.
Why is this happening? I use a Linksys AE1000 Dual-Band Wireless Adapter, connected to 5ghz Network (don't know if I can connect to both 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time; cause it says on the Box: "2x300mbps").
If I can't stream media from my USB Harddrive - how can they advertise that the 5ghz Dual Band routers are excellent for just this purpose?
My router is located about 3m horizontally from my Laptop and 1m above it. Nothing in between.
Any suggestions? I will try prioritizing "Video Streaming" in the router settings, but I guess that's for Internet Video Streamning - not local WLAN streaming.
Also, everytime I click "Home" button in the Router Webpage it says "Detect again..." or something similiar. Is this normal?
