Asus RT-N66U Router 5GHz Issues

ok i finished setting up my router
but when i look at the connections in the taskbar it only displays the 2.4GHz
and i tried looking at the asus Discovery Utility it only showed 2.4GHz. please help me
i have updated the router to Version 3.0.0.3.178
I'm afraid of updating it to Version 3.0.0.4.220
its because of this: ASUS RT-N66U B1 Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.220
IMPORTANT, DUE TO THE NVRAM SIZE UPGRADE, CHANGE TO THIS VERSION FIRMWARE WILL WIPE ALL YOUR SETTING!
AFTER UPGRADED FIRMWARE, PLEASE PRESS THE RESET BUTTON AND HOLD OVER 5 SECONDS TO RESET THE ROUTER TO DEFAULT.


i don't know how to restore the router to default settings.

This is actually wrong.

switch of the router, press and hold the wps-button while powering on the router, wait for the powerled to start flashing quickly then release the wps-button.

Both work.

The first one is posted by Asus themselves in the quote above, will work if you are properly booted in the firmware.

The second works through the CFE, so it's your alternative if your firmware is corrupted and fails to properly boot.

As for the 5 GHz, it probably means your computer's wireless isn't dual-band capable, and only support 2.4 GHz. You need a wireless card that specifically states it supports 5 GHz.
