Asus Firmware Update

Yes, I've become more aware of that now (because of reading).....
This is the error message that appeared:
Dec 11 2025 00:00:55 RT-BE88U-30E0 BACKUPMON[30762] - **ERROR**: Unable to mount to external network drive. Please check your configuration!
You might want to try running a backup from within BACKUPMON itself to ensure everything is connected right. You need to make sure your network paths to your backup location is set correctly, along with your credentials. Once you've gotten a successful backup to run through on there, then the automated backup process that MerlinAU kicks off should work without an issue.

Great support!!! Thank you

I'm not questioning that. You shouldn't underestimate people who are looking for help. I was able to fix the problem without having to reset to factory settings. And I don't like simple sentences like, "You should read the descriptions first" or "I don't know which add-ons you're running" without asking about it first.
OK... I solved the problem. That's the main thing

A lot of us experienced members have our setups in our signatures. Sure helps save a lot of relevant questions.
Indeed, even without a signature you still could have been courteous enough to include all this info in your opening post.
Don't criticise free and relevant advice - if it doesn't suit you ignore it.

Yes, the suggestion to perform a factory reset was overkill, but the other "simple sentences" were necessary in order to better assess the situation. Other forum members cannot provide accurate suggestions without the full picture.

Read the thread below if you have add-ons with USB storage requirement, especially when some of them do backups. Reliable storage is where you start.
