Asus RT3100 with Merlin firmware...Unable to delete Old VPN data

I have an ASUS RT3100 with Merlin firmware 384.5. I am changing my VPN provider from PIA to NordVPN. When I try to configure NordVPN under VPN client, my PIA entries are not deleted even after I reset the router to "factory defaults." I have tried going into recovery mode and uploading the Merlin firmware again, resetting the router by pressing the reset button for more than 5 seconds, and uploading the ASUS firmware then overwriting it with the Merlin firmware; but the PIA entries keep reemerging.

Does anyone have any idea how I can definitively remove ALL PIA enteries so I can start fresh with NordVPN?

Thanks

No it won't brick your router.

Log into the router and go to Administration > System and select Yes for "Format JFFS partition at next boot". Apply the change first and then reboot.

Sometimes you have to do it twice ;).

Did a 30-30-30 hard reset, factory reset, and GUI reset and still have the same problem. Now my internet light continues to be a shade of red with an error stating that the ISP DHCP is not working. I think there is a problem with the router because if I bypass the router my internet is fine.

I was able to correct the internet light problem. However, I still can not get rid of the PIA settings....which show up in ALL Client profiles. Any ideas on how to totally wipe out Merlin and reinstall with a clean slate?

There's a "Default" button on the OpenVPN client page.

I figured it out. I have the LastPass extension on my chrome browser with automatically fill login information enabled. When I uncheck this feature, the problem goes away. Hopefully, this will help someone else with this problem.

Thanks to all who gave there input:)
