Whats this backdoor security issue I have been reading about with Asus routers?Something to do with Netcore?

Supposedly Netcore works with Asus but I can't find anything that confirms it.I did find another article that says Asus is working with Trendmicro now (the company that found the security leak) so maybe there is truth behind it?I was hoping someone knew some facts about the case.

I couldn't find anything to prove they work with Asus in any capacity. To check your router security, an excellent site is Shields Up! at http://www.grc.com

These two things have nothing to do with one another.

The TrendMicro involvement is the QoS/Parental Control engine used in the RT-AC87U.

And as the article said, TrendMicro are simply those who discovered the backdoor, they have nothing to do with it itself - Netcore does.

I have never seen a single trace of any backdoor in the Asus code after working with it for over two years and a half.
