Hi, I have this router for month or so and every now and then lan ports go down then up after few seconds and in log it logs something like this
kernel: eth3 (Int switch port: 3) (Logical Port: 3) (phyId: b) Link DOWN.
kernel: eth3 (Int switch port: 3) (Logical Port: 3) (phyId: b) Link Up at 1000 mbps full duplex
I have changed lan cards which didn't help I changed cables same result, in end I sent it to warranty and I got it replaced but new one does exactly the same. I thought it might be my pc but i tested with a netgear r7000 and connection is perfectly stable with it.
I updated router to latest firmware without any improvement. I don't know what else to do with it.

Could it be power management on the client adaper? When the link is 'down', what does the router Ethernet Status report for the connection link rate?

OE

Do you have the same issue on any LAN port?
Yes all ports do same.

If you are referring to the connection link from network connections it shows there network cable unplugged when it happens.

If you are referring to the connection link from adapter settings it shows there network cable unplugged when it happens.

I was referring to router System Status\Ethernet Ports\link rate when 'down'. If fully down, it should indicate no connection/no link rate.

Hard to imagine two routers having the same issue. Did you restore router1 configuration to replacement router2? If so, next step might be to reset the firmware and configure from scratch to rule out any firmware weirdness.

And test with different wired clients and cables (again).

I didn't restore the configuration was configured from scratch, as for the link rate there in router when it happens it just says for port that happens at that time LanX unplugged.

I think you are describing the router Log.

I'm referring to router System Status\Ethernet Ports. May look like this:

I have the exact same issue and same router - ASUS TUF AX5400
The Internet connection drops, both on Wi-Fi and LAN, only for about 60 seconds.
And the log says this: (I replaced MAC and IP with xx)

Any ideas on what to do?

Have you tried changing DHCP query frequency?

I just bought a TUF-AX5400 and have had it up for 8 days. Have similar issue. My son's gaming pc is wired cat7 50m flat cable direct to LAN1 (game port) goes great for a while, slows to a trickle or cuts out. I tried moving to LAN2 and immediately goes great, then same thing. Have not checked logs as wouldn't know how to interpret. Have just sent s long email to asus tech support as online chat is useless.

Does it happen with other wired devices? Could be a weird compatibility issue.
Do you have a network switch? If yes, it would be interesting to see if it happens when you have a middle man.

Thanks. I have two other direct wires into the AX5400. One to netgear switch to which are connected: TV/SKY-Q box, a couple of other media devices. And the other to my Linksys MX5300 (in bridge mode), which has 4 other linksys nodes connected to it, 2 x wired and 2 x wireless. These don't drop out. Only one is the direct connect to my son's gaming PC. Looking if I can find a used RT-AX86U and return the AX5400, if cannot fix this. Waiting for a response from Asus.
