Currently there is a "Coupon price $144.49" on Amazon for the GL-BE6500.
If "vanilla" OpenWRT is a requirement then yes it won't be as compelling, unless one needs the features the router provides. The router does come with a flavor of OpenWRT preinstalled.Not as compelling at the moment as it's not supported by vanilla OpenWrt.

The ASUS WiFi6 router supply seems to have dried up in the US... RT-AX routers that are not EOL seem to be hard to find, yes? One more reason to look at other makes for my next network should I need one in a hurry.
