asus xt9 ax7800 router my personal experience

New Around Here
hi guys, this is my first mesh router.
the white asus xt9 ax7800 in a pack of two.
bought brand new.
home internet speed 100mbps, average is 104mps.
small home. 2 stories with 2bdrms and garage.
like to share my experience.

i will have to say it works great. i have enjoyed it from the first day. it is easy to setup and start with out much extra knowledge. the shape was a little off at first but i have since gotten an appreciation for that oval shape it is in. since its part of the home decor it needs to look good in my eyes since im staring at it everyday.

i have had it for a couple of years now i decided on 2025 black friday sale i would get another 2 nodes to add to my home system. they too were easy to add to the main units. buying more was to fix some issues i had and it worked out perfectly. if i moved i may even buy more since they are getting older and the sales are usually pretty good. i only run 100mbps for my entire home internet usage. i have tried 1 gig before it did nothing for me. if i was to change i would say 200mbps to 300mbps would be more than enough for my dwelling.

im using one 5g-2 for my dedicated backhaul, 5g-1 for all my guests to log into. no drops or anything negative with my experience so far. i do tweak and tune the system often now that i know what to look for in the asus app.

one thing that came up i saw as a problem was the sticky client issue. all my cell hones and all my other mobile devices would just stick with the main router. it was far enough to get a slow down. and i do notice the slow down since im only at 100mbps. i had researched it and figured out how to fix it. no more sticky. the app is pretty good and it does do the job well. i hope i dont need to upgrade my router anytime soon. wifi7 sounds great but my speeds do not justify it. with these four router/nodes i have also enjoyed tuning them to work very well for my needs. i do not have any slow downs anywhere in my home.

if you have had any issues or a great experience with your units, feel free to post it up. would enjoy reading about other's experiences.

Glad things are working out for you! Be careful adding mesh nodes as you can get too much WIFI. Ethernet backhaul would be a good add. I, too, have 100 Mbps FIOS and have found that enabling QOS helps preventing complaints from family members when I do a heavy download.
