Asus zenwifi xt8 reboots several times a day

New Around Here
Hi al!!
I have 2 mesh asus zenwifi xt8 since 2021 (v1).
3-4 months ago, I have random reboots every day. Sometimes, works fine for 2-3 days, and other day can reboot 5 or 6 times.
I tried to hard reset and configure all the settings manual (wasting 2 houres) and get the same problem.
I changed the "main" router to the "slave" but no changes.
I attach the logs, cause I can't find where's the problem.
Any idea?

Is it both units or just one ?
Exact firmware version please.

What happened with the units just before the rebooting started ?

Have you searched the forums and read the threads on others with this issue ?

Hi! Thanks for the quick response.
Always reboot the main router and then the node loose the connexion (red light first, and white after main reboots).
Same last firmware on both: 3.0.0.4.388_24710-gf758fa3
Before the reboot, all seams "normal". Sometimes, this reboot succeed when my son is playing or working with him PC (if he power off his PC, the reboot gone, or is rarely).
I search and find reddit threads with this problem in this model. Mine is 3,5 years old and have no problems since 3-4 months ago (no warranty).

Is your son's PC plugged into the same power outlet as the router ?

Are there intermittent power issues - flickering lights, etc ?

Did you upgrade firmware 3-4 months ago ?

PC and router are in different rooms.
Seams no power issues (no flickering). When reboots, there is a delay from internet is down and the led is white, and then red, green and white again.
I didn't remenber if I upgrade the firmware, maybe the problem appear and then I checked the updates and sure that i did the upgrade.
Yesterday, I see another firmware update, but nothing change.

When you swapped the main with the node, did the power adapters stay with the location or stay with the router (moved) ?

Do you use any of the AiProtection features ?

I didn’t move the router with the power supply, but thinking about… I remember that 4 moths ago, the alarm company changes the SAI for a new one (the router and the alarm is plugged in). I just unplug the router power supply and plug again in a free space out of the SAI.
If this isn’t works, I will try to swap the power supply from the other router and try again.

I use AirProtection: malicius site blocking and infected detection on (I see a lot of protections logs from my son's PC).

Given all the hits on your son's browsing, i would make sure he is running as a regular user, not admin user. Install Malwarebytes or similar and at least MS Defender or other intelligent AV if you are not already using something like that in addition to AiP. Not sure why AiP would be causing the issue, but i have never used it. There are likely browser plug-ins if not handled by AV/AM.

Were you also running AiCloud ?

My son uses MS Defender, but seams that isn't enough. Do you have experience with malwarebytes? Maybe, I will buy a license and try to clean all the malware or virus.
I don't use AiCloud.

I've only had good experience with malwarebytes over the years. Never found anything, but i don't freely click. Kaspersky was pretty good, it found a few things. Norton was pretty invasive but solid. Used it for macs and win. Defender + Malwarebytes and careful browsing should be reasonable. If you can put your son on his own VLAN, that would help isolate him from other users. i wouldn't toss out AiP. It will only add latency if he is a gamer, but will give you another layer of detection/defense.

Indeed! These days I would put kids/others on their own network including a dedicated printer (dedicated hardware is cheap protection, imo)... and keep as many as possible off the main network.
