Symptom: My DDNS would not resolve in Safari / nslookup

Observations:
success: nslookup xyz.asuscomm.com 1.1.1.1
fail: nslookup xyz.asuscomm.com 8.8.8.8

Remedy: change DNS in router from 8.8.8.8 to 1.1.1.1

Question: Is there any setting in the router that will help Google's DNS service?

May be an issue where your router WAN IP address has changed and the Asus DDNS service has not propagated the change to Google but has to Cloudflare. Give it time or switch DDNS providers. Asus DDNS is notoriously problematic.

Edit: You may want to consider using a DNS such as Cloudflare Security, 1.1.1.2 and 1.0.0.2, or Quad9, 9.9.9.9 and 149.112.112.112. These are filtering sevices that try to block malware sites.
