ASUSWRT ASP FILES

How does the asuswrt firmware implement the asp file processing?. They dont appear to be microsoft asp files which are processed by the iis servers on host pcs. They do contain what appear to be the <% and %> syntax used in microsoft asp files to invoke server commands. Do these call CGI apps, C apps or javascripts or what?

Those tags are parsed and processed on-the-fly by the custom httpd server running on the router, before being sent to the browser.

Thanks for that information. It clears it up for me. I am digging deaper into how the httpd server works. I have flashed dd-wrt on a number of routers but the nightshift software i use is only available on asuswrt. I just installed al caughey's Yet Another Monitor on the Asuswrt firmware to consolidate to one router, If the nightshift software would run on the merlin build I would use it.
