I wouldn't like to second guess another member, but I'd definitely say no.
The last firmware update from asus was July 2020 (385 series firmware) so no further support.

If you can find more recent releases of the GPL code then by all means, if you have the knowledge, you can compile it yourself. I seriously doubt you'll be able to find those, so you won't be able to build anything newer than 385 - and I also doubt you'll get anyone else to do it for you.

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer!
What I get from it, is that I am more up to date by using DD WRT firmware than old outdated Merlin, like this one: https://gzenux.github.io/asuswrt-rtn18u/
I'll give both a trial.
