Router login password changed,,,, all devices router Wi-Fi password access only via Mac filter. ( router setup off line —> NO WAN ,,,,, connect VIA LAN only for setup\access,,,then Locked out of router ONLY after connection to modem after 5-10min,,,,more than once.

Did you enable AiCloud on the router (Cloud Disk, Smart Access or Smart Sync)?

EDIT: Are you accessing your router with http://192.168.1.1 or did you disable HTTP access to the router?

I suggest that you factory reset the router by pressing the reset button. Then do the minimum amount of configuration to get it online and then update the firmware to the latest version. Follow that with another factory reset before setting up your router properly.

You don't need Asuswrt-Merlin firmware.
Revert to stock ASUS firmware, reset both routers, follow ASUS setup guides on the previous page. Simple.
