Long story short:

AXE-16000 as primary with a node AX86U via ethernet

From 10G LAN2 of AXE to 2.5G of AX86U, connection ok at 1G as the 10G switch did not arrived yet, AX86U is added properly as a node and all is fine ... until I noticed that no devices are connecting to the node even if in Ai Mesh is showing that both of SSIDs are broadcasted .
So, in the GUI all looks ok but in reality there is no 2G / 5G network at the node, moreover if I try to bind my phone for example on the 5G network of the node, I get error saying that the signal is week, even if the phone is right next to the node.

I did following tests:
Both routers with Merlin -> same result
Both routers on stock -> same result
AXE on Merlin, 86U on stock -> same result
AXE on stock 86U on Merlin -> like above

*between the upgrades I did format the jffs partition and did a hard factory reset, like the tutorial on this forum says ...

I have no mental strength to deal with this stupid issue which I'm battling since Saturday

Is anybody having some pointers or some tips what could I do more ? Or am I doing something wrong ? AXE has 4 ssid's ... should I just disable the 2nd 5G ? maybe this is confusing the AX86U ?
Probably I'm better off disabling 2nd 5G ssid as anyway don't have at what to use it.
Is it correct disable from wifi -> professional -> enable radio off ?

Attaching some screen shoots of the config ...

Noticed the same thing here. When I bind our DVD Player to the node closest to it on my ZenWiFi AX, I get a warning that the signal is weak. However, just go ahead and do the bind, and don't worry about the warning. You can always re-bind it to another node if you need to, but the signal will be fine since the phone is close. Apparently longstanding bug, but don't worry about it *smile*. That DVD player is full strength on the node that I bind it to, despite the warning.

So I found what was causing the issue.

When first adding the AX86U as a node to AXE16000, one of the 5ghz wifi from AXE16000 needs to be off. if adding the node via ethernet backhaul.

This does the trick and the remaining 5ghz and 2 are broadcasted correctly by the AX86U
