Bandwidth limiter

New Around Here
Hello Everyone :)

I have a Asus rt-n66u with the latest build of Asus Merlin on it,problem in this.

I have upto 16 devices in the house but my connection speed is only 12Mbit down 1.1Mbit up.

In the Bandwidth settings i am only able to set limits to as low as o.1 Mbit meaning i cant limit all the devices in the house within my total limit.

Is there another way around this ?

So that i could maybe limit upload speeds in smaller increments ?

I would not be setting limits that low; you don't need to spread your bandwidth equally across all your devices. I would perhaps restrict devices that are used heavily for tv streaming, you tube etc only to something like 6 down. Would leave the upload alone and web surfing devices alone.

I allocate 0.03Mbit for NTP, but otherwise I think BreakingDad is right. Though VOIP is often 64Kbit, so a granularity of 0.1Mbit is a bit coarse.

Unless you are well aware of what you are doing, I would say 0.1Mbit is good enough, especially if the bandwidth limiter configures a hard rate-limit (a rate that cannot be exceeded).

Could you explain what you are trying accomplish?
