Multiple presets issue has been fixed. The system now only allows ONE preset. When saving a preset with the "Load automatically" check box selected, on save, it will remove the default (Load automatically) setting from any other existing preset.

Be sure to run the modsyslogui UPDATE option from an SSH session to the router, to get this latest update

Updated, no big issue.
We can't update the already included/configured "My addons" present anymore, was it by purpose?

Below is what I previously shared and tried to do again after this installation/update:

Only little thing: I had updated "My addons" preset to include "AdGuardHome" and after the Update & overwrite, I saw it was not there and I had to reconfigure it.

And I saw a typo inside "My Addons" preset: missing letter "c" on first word for "Description" field
"Inlude" instead of "Include"

I missed the My Addon issue before, but will address that and the typo later tonight. Thanks for all the feedback and kept it coming!!

I can confirm this is fixed good job! can you keep created presets on reinstall? hate to have to retype everything everytime script updates.

If you select the "My Addons" preselect from the list, then click on EDIT and update the filtering text, then CONFIRM - that should work for you. If it doesn't, please copy the last set of ModSyslogUI log records and report back here. They should look like the following:

Feb 24 12:36:30 ModSyslogUI: Manager triggered. Extraction phase...
Feb 24 12:36:30 ModSyslogUI: Action: edit

And I added the letter "c" in the Description in My Addons, so the next update will show that correction. But, you can update it yourself using the Preset EDIT button. Those presets are samples only and you are free to edit / delete as you see fit.

OK, I uninstalled the beta and reinstalled it, all good now
(Got same 5-6 sentences in the logs as you shared, was able to update the preconfigured preset as I wanted).

Those 3 logs messages are a clear indication of the error, namely the shell script that updates the presets.conf never ran and explains why your updates never take.

Can you enter the following from a SSH session to the router and reply back with the results:

 ls -l /jffs/addons/modsyslogui

.

I think we are heading towards completely uninstalling, then reinstalling modsyslogui, but I want to verify the contents of that directory first.

The presets that I added with the Beta are samples only, to show examples of what is possible with the Preset functionality. You're free to add, delete, change ANY of those sample presets you want.

Additionally, whenever there is an update, the system will NOT replace any Presets a person may have created / changed >> I think people would be pretty upset if the update wiped out their personalized preset list!!

If you want "Show All" to be the default, all you need to do is not have any of the presets (e.g. Remove Noise) have the "Load automatically" selected.

Does this meet your needs and better help explain the intent of Presets?

i went through amtm to update, said script was up to date. i updated anyways, which worked, but wiped my presets again. good idea with help screen.

Apologies - the BETA is not managed under AMTM for updates. Use the scripts UPDATE function by invoking the command modsyslogui. Also, the script no longer downloads or replaces existing presets --> if you experience differently, do let me know

• Launched "amtm"
• Selected "ms" (ModSyslogUI)
• Selected "4 (Update)"
• Selected "y" to overwrite the current installation
• Exit everything without doing anything else

As per @JB_1366 , when I went to web console to test, I saw that my customize preset (My addons) has been restore to default settings (missing "AdguardHome")

Otherwise, new help menu and explanations are wonderful, much more clearer than before.
Really great addon (except for the customized preset reset).

Ok, so just to be clear and do right next time(s), you mean to only run the below comment (from your first post):

/usr/sbin/curl --retry 3 "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kstamand/modsyslogui/beta/modsyslogui" -o "/tmp/modsyslogui" && chmod +x /tmp/modsyslogui && sh /tmp/modsyslogui install

Because, when you said "BETA is not managed under AMTM for updates", for me it means not able to do "u" command under amtm, which seems totally normal when testing a beta.
But, as I wrote, I was inside your addon menu and selected option "4" to update. Doing this, I thought I was using your addon update feature, which should be behaving like you described (not erase customized preset).
I am not arguing, I just want to be sure everything is clear and to do things right next time(s).
