Hi everybody,
I'm getting register error when switching from router to acess points (all AC68u) networks. This only happens with firmwares after 374 ver (376 to 384). With some It can login even after sometime trying and with others not. To solve this problem I can only use .374 firmwares but they´re too old. Is there anything that can be done to fix it?

Are the AP's using the same SSID or different SSID's?

When the SSID changes, this tells the client IP stack that there is a new network, so has to go thru the whole association, dhcp request, etc...

Different SSID, but doesnt have this issue in older firmwares. Even with newer Merlin FWs this couldnt be solved.

What is "register error"?

As I read it, his softphone VoIP app Bria reports a SIP account registration 'error' (loses registration) when the device roams.

Yep - I used have Bria, and this is expected behavior, when the network changes (because of the new/different SSID), it forces Bria to re-register...

For reference... the softphone Zoiper on Android on VoIP.ms on 2xRT-AC86U AiMesh with same SSIDs does not have this registration issue.

But that is not Bria is it?

As long as SSID's are common, the SIP client doesn't see a change, as IP will be the same - simply put - remember the ISO stack model, Bria works at the application layer, so changes at the network layer will require changes at the app layer.

Nope. Just a softphone that does stay registered... a point of reference as I stated it.

Edit: I've since switched from Zoiper to Grandstream Wave - Video using TLS, which seems to hold registration well while roaming at home and away. Another point of reference.

I do have an irregular issue with an ata using UDP losing registration and then not being able to regain it... across an AiMesh wireless backhaul. Switching to TCP seems to avoid this. An ata on the router has never had this issue.
