New Around Here
Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it's possible to have a bridge between more than 2 Asus routers.
Home configuration
- my "source of internet" is at the very corner of my rectangle shaped appartment, in a small recess near a stone / brick chimney, so not the best place to broadcast signal
- my home cinema is near the chimney, but I can't use wires, so it's wifi as well
- my desk is at the opposite place on the long side, but I get decent signal with my motherboard ac antenna (Asus RoG Maximus VI Formula)
- my bedroom is at the opposite place diagonally, and here it's bad, sometimes the wifi is unusable
- my kitchen is at the opposite place on the short side, and wifi is also pretty bad
Current setup
- Router Asus AC-RT66U (in the corner)
- a range extender Netgear WN2500RP (802.11n) in my office, near the room (it works barely better than the router signal, but makes wifi usable in the bedroom)
Other attempts
I tried CPL and it didn't work so I gave up
Issues with current setup
- wifi strength is bad in the kitchen and in the bedroom
- home cinema is driven by a PS3, and it's g speed is starting to show when broadcasting HD
What I was thinking
- possibly upgrade the router with a more modern one, once Asus will release an ac3200 this summer
- use another router as a media bridge for the home cinema
- use another router in my office to try and get a better signal. I could also place it differently so it's more in front of the bedroom door, and put it in a mode where it does ethernet and wifi bridge (but what about the performances in that mode ?)
- OR find one of those wall mounted (via the electrical socket) range extender for the bedroom if upgrading the router doesn't help
I wonder if it's possible to have more than one router on bridge mode
