BT8 Multi User MIMO settings

New Around Here
A few days ago, I purchased a 2-pack BT8 on Amazon when its price dropped to $485 CAD. Before that, I had bought a 2-pack BT10 and considered keeping it, but the price difference was too significant to overlook. Now, with both systems side by side, I’ve noticed that in the BT8’s settings (under Wireless/Professional), there’s an option called Multi-User MIMO, as well as OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO. I believe OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO also relates to Multi-User MIMO, so I’m confused about the purpose of the Multi-User MIMO setting. Additionally, no matter how I adjust the OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO setting, it doesn’t save. Can anyone clarify this?

MU-MIMO is downlink that can be used for 11ac/11ax
OFDMA/11ax MU-MIMO is the uplink flavor for 11ax if memory serves me right...

Probably safe to keep those two disabled, esp if you have a lot of 11n and 11ac Wave 1 gear

Those two highlighted settings I believe are the WiFi 6 equivalent settings for the pair right below.

At least in the past, (got my first BE/WiFi 7 router on 2023/11/30,) turning on both pairs would cause issues with WiFi 6 devices connecting to 5 GHz and similar issue 6E devices wouldn't stay connected to 6 GHz.

I must confess I have been lucky, as my BE routers all have 2 6 GHz channels and I could afford to turn on the AX pair on 6 GHz-1 and the BE pair on 6 GHz-2. I have been forgoing MLO since I only have a single WiFi 7 device/cellphone.

Depending on how many WiFi 7 devices are in your household, I'd suggest toggling the two WiFi 7 settings below off, then try enabling the 2 you highlighted. See how your overall network performs. Then choose between the pairs.
