Buying Asus router just because of this. Supported device AC3200?

I'm running the current firmware on the RT-AC3200 & have seen issues, but usually a factory reset fixes is & I have only had to do that once since upgrading to the current firmware. I'm stuck with it because I need a tri-band system & it has pretty fast USB capability for what is actually out there. I'd upgrade to the 5300 if the ramped up version was stable. I don't think merlin supports the GT version & I use a few features that he builds.
