Can I add to the list of supported DDNS providers?

I'm using DNSExit. It is free and supports primary domains. It's not included "out of the box" in the supported list.

Can I add DNSExit myself? If so, does it require ssh (and do I need to hack to expose ssh or is it already supported)?

I did some research and while I'm quite new to Asus products, it seems that there is a common API/module used to take the user settings from the router GUI and construct the proper URL to send to update the DDNS providers (inadyn). Is that just used by DD-WRT?

Asuswrt supports DNS-o-Matic, which in turn supports a very wide range of other DDNS services. See if DNS-o-Matic supports DNSExit, if it does then you can use it to update DNSExit with your WAN IP.

Yes, I thought of that (DNS-o-matic). If necessary that is my fall-back strategy. I'd prefer to not have to have a relay with multiple accounts (and points of failure) if possible. This seems like it should be so easy to accomplish.

Asuswrt uses ez-ipupdate to handle its DDNS updates. DD-WRT uses a different client AFAIK (inadyn probably, been a while since I looked).
