Can the DAP-1522 be used to extend an n wireless network

I bought a DIR-825 with the hopes of using a DAP-1522 to recieve the wireless signal and then establish wired conections to PS3, Wii and netfix player in the basement. I previously used an Actiontec DSL modem/router with g wireless to run the basement devices in wireless mode. However I had to use a Hawking G wireless extender. If the DIR-825 5ghz signal doesn't reach to the DAP-1522, how do I extend the wireless signal from the DIR-825 to reach the DAP-1522?

Move one or both of them closer together. Seriously.

You could also try higher gain antennas on the 825, but dual-band models are hard to find.

Zyxel has a dual band antenna. 6db gain on 2.4Ghz and 8db on 5Ghz. Has a RP-SMA conenctor sxo that should work perfectly with the DIR-825.
