Cannot access blocked devices over VPN

I have configured WireGuard server on my AX88U (non Pro, stick f/w) and use it to access my Intranet. Everything works as expected EXCEPT my IP security cameras. I have blocked them from Internet access (using that router option) because I don't trust them, but this also blocks them from being accessed via the VPN. I am wondering if there is either a solution with the stock formware, or a solution if I were to install Merlin instead.
