Cannot Access WEB UI after about 15 minutes

New Around Here
  1. Using latest firmware
  2. After 15 minutes, I enter 192.168.1.1 from any web browser and it goes nowhere…just a dead page. I tried Safari, Chrome & Firefox.
  3. I've tried from other computers after this time period and I get the same wait wait wait and dead page treatment.
  4. I tried clearing the cookies as someone had suggested, but that did not do anything.
  5. During this entire time, no issues w/internet connection at all.

Anyone else experiencing this? How would I resolve this issue?

Thanks,
N

Have you tried the ASUS RT-AC66U Device Discovery tool?

Your ac66u might have changed the ip-address.

Do you have USB disks plugged to the router? If so, try disabling the Media server under USB -> Servers. If you have too many media files on the USB disk then you might be either filling up all the RAM with the database, or encountering a corrupted media that will hang the router.

Thanks for the replies guys.

  • With regard to the router changing its address, it should not since it is the router and it should be 192.168.1.1. I installed the device discovery tool and it could not detect the router.
  • No extras running at the moment. So no USB disks. Media bridge not enabled. AIcloud not enabled. AIdisk not enabled. Just hooked up the router, ran the wizard and made sure the computers on the network could get their IP addresses and see the web. Very simple setup so far.

I'm going to try reverting to the prior firmware 3.0.0.4.372 (unsure if I can do this) and see if that helps with the issue or not. Will report back here.

Have you tried to power off the router and lave it powered off over the night ?
Next morning power on the router and see if iy works .....

Reverting to prior firmware - same symptoms. After 15 minutes 192.168.1.1 is not accessible. Internet works just fine though.

I tried accessing it via ethernet (wired) and WiFi (w/ethernet disabled). Still no love.

I have had the same problems and just tried , was stubborn and after quite a number of retries I could access the router .... What happened I do not know - Asus perhaps can explain ....
