Cannot reach GUI login page for router

New Around Here
I have an ASUS AX82U router and get "We can’t connect to the server at www.asusrouter.com." or "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site." come up when trying to access the login page. I've tried several browsers and got the same or similar response. I noticed a similar issue discussed here from 2022 but did not see a resolution. I apologize if this has already been discussed, if so please direct me to the thread. The only thing I changed the last time I was "in" the router a month or two ago was the DNS server which I changed to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 on some article advice on best DNS servers to use. The router works fine and don't notice any other problems and all devices connect to the internet just fine. The firmware version is 3.0.0.4.388_25029-g8883e44 (obtained thru iPhone ASUS app). Any ideas? Thanks.

Thank you so much Colin!!! Got in with your reply. Now a question. The LAN DNS settings show 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (?) and the WAN DNS shows 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 plus other options to select. Could you suggest how to properly setup the WAN DNS Setting section and the DNS and WINS Server Setting section. I also understand you can set DnS in Windows but did not try to go there yet. This is way over my head but I can hopefully follow instructions. 😜

As I said previously you should leave the LAN DNS fields empty like there were originally (not 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 which are OpenDNS servers).

WINS Server should also be left empty (WINS is obsolete and not used anymore).

Leaving the LAN server addresses above empty means that your clients will use the router for their DNS (which in turn uses the WAN DNS servers). This means DNS lookups are usually faster.

For the WAN DNS you set them to whatever you want. Most people leave them at the default ("Get the DNS IP from your ISP automatically") as they are usually the fastest. But if you prefer you can set them to something else. For example, you might want to use the "CleanBrowsing" servers which block malicious websites. Your choice.
