Can't bind my Merlin-installed AX88U Pro to Google Home

MTBS

New Around Here
Hi all - I tried to bind my AX88U Pro with the latest Merlin build to Google Home but was told that my firmware is outdated. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks!

Told by whom or what that the routers firmware was out of date?

The page with an URL ending with asuscomm.com, after logging into my google account.
If the binding process uses the Asus router mobile app, note that the Asus app is not officially supported by the Asus-Merlin firmware. While some Asus-Merlin features may work, others will not while using the Asus mobile app. If you continue to have problems trying to link to Google Home you may need to use the latest stock Asus firmware: ASUS RT-AX88U Pro Firmware 3.0.0.6.102_33421 (2025/10/27)
Asus has the following support documents, if you haven't already seen them, that may or may not apply:
[Google Assistant] How to Link ASUS Router to Google Assistant?
[Google Assistant] What models support to work with Google Assistant?

Thank you for the elaboration! Do you think it will work if I bind using stock firmware first and flash it back to Merlin upon successfully binding the router?
