Can't connect to DVR or wireless IP camera-RT-AC87R

Hello everyone!

I'm having a problem connecting to my DVR and wireless IP camera. I can connect to my DVR and IP cam using my phones data and my external IP. However, when I try and connect to my DVR using the external IP and I'm on the same network as it, I can't I connect to it using the external IP. I have to use its internal IP.

I don't even know where I would look in my router to try and fix it. It worked fine on my old Cisco router.

You may make the same mistake as I did. I got my friend's used DVR to connect my new IP cameras from Shenzhen Safer. Unfortunately, problems come in. I can't connet them. At last, my Safer sales told me that I should get NVR for IP/wireless camera.

Buying a new DVR is not an option for me. It worked with my old router. I don't see why there is a problem now. There must be some setting that is enabled or disabled.
