I can only read! I'v enabled everything and yet it doesnt work?

Is there a guide somewhere that explains how to set it up so that I can transfer files as well? I did a search here but it didnt explain the basics and the asus website wasnt very helpful either.

I'm running win8 64bit and ive created a workgroup enabled ipv6 etc..

Might be your folder permissions haven't been set to include write permissions for whatever reason.

if you can, telnet into the router and use

chmod -R 777 /<drive>/<foldername>

that will ensure you has write access to where you want to write to.

May not be the solution but it might help.

Works now!

But the write speed is crap

6-8MB/sec is this normal?
Im transferring from laptop to hdd which is about 9feet/3m away, 5ghz 100/100Mbit connection.

8 MB/s = 80 Mbits. On a 100 Mbits connection, this looks pretty much close to the cap.
