New Around Here
I have a N66U still with the original firmware (.090!) and have been lurking, waiting for a firmware upgrade that all acknowledged as pretty good and stable- I really dont want to wait any longer and will install .178 or Merlins latest build- Just a quick question - I'm not clear after reading many, many posts how I clear the NVRAM (esp if I go from 32k to 64k)

Tha router also seems slow - on both bands- ususally a reboot speeds things up for awhile

All help appreciated

Thanks

Steve

(I have moved your post out of the old gigantic thread as it will soon be locked).

Upgrading from 32K to 64K will clear out your existing settings.

Otherwise, there are many ways to clear nvram:

  • Turn the router on with the WPS button pressed
  • Use the option to revert to factory defaults on the webui
  • (ADVANCED USERS ONLY) do an mtd-erase -d nvram
  • Boot to recovery mode, and use the webui at 192.168.1.1 to clear out nvram

There's another one involving the reset button, but I never used it so I don't remember the exact procedure in this case.

As for your performance issues, you are running a really old firmware version. The jump to a newer version might help you there.
