Client traffic Grafana dashboard on RT-AC88U with MerlinWRT

Hi there,

I'm looking for any solution to send the traffic by device to InfluxDB or Prometheus, to display the value in a Grafana dashboard.
As said in the title, I have a RT-AC88U router with the last supported version of MerlinWRT.

Has anyone already done this ?

Hi,

Yes I searched on my own.
I found a way thanks to the scripts I found there : https://github.com/corgan2222/extstats/. I had to adapt and simplify them, but it worked.

I just have two scripts, and they can be found here https://github.com/keydam/RC-AC88U_influxdb.
I put those script in the crontab and it pushes the data I needed into Influxdb.

If you're familiar with Shell script it's quite easy to read.
Feel free to use or modify as you wish.

Am I right in thinking this won't report correctly if using hardware acceleration?

Sorry but I have absolutely no idea about the compatibility with HW acceleration ..

Thanks for confirming. My working assumption is they won't be (similar data gathering I had before stopped working when I had to enable CTF as it bypassed the CPU/kernel) but I may have a play around to double check.

I checked the scripts. In both cases, scripts are done in a way you're using your own influxdb. I am using hosted cloud version of influx. In my case I don't have username&password, but token. Any idea?
