Hi there,
I am new here and just started using Asus-Merlin firmware on RT-AC68U.
Thank you RMerlin for maintaining this firmware for Asus routers.
I just switched from stock firmware to Asus-Merlin 384.5. I did factory reset before switching from stock to Asus-Merlin and after as well.
The router is used in small business, planning to change it to UTM but later.
My question: I noticed that at some point Clients List shows me wrong names, some names don't make sense.
We name our laptops certain way but a couple of people have own laptops (contractors) and they named differently. I started seeing name like 'Canadian Hum' in the list but I am sure there is no laptop with this name. Moreover this name 'Canadian Hum' is shown for 4 different clients (2 wired and 2 wireless) but when I ask the person that I think may have some influence on this he tells me he has different IP. I check the list and the IP address I was given belongs to known laptop.
Does anyone know where the router may get such weird names? And how it is possible that the list says 'Canadian Hum' has IP1 but it actually has IP2 while IP1 belongs to another laptop?
Thanks.
Update: laptops have Windows 7s and 10s.
