Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help a relative network n00b here. I have an Apple TV and 2 Samsung TV's that I'd like to be able to watch the US Netflix feeds but can't since I'm in Canada.
My hardware/software situation:
What I'd like to do is use an old computer as a router to route all my internet traffic through privateinternetaccess. I currently have access to PIA using OpenVPN on my N66U but the throughput is pretty bad so I'd like to use a dedicated box (with more processing power) to route the traffic. Running the PIA client on my Mac shows very little slow down of DL speeds because of the processing power for encryption I'm guessing.
What I've tried and investigated so far:
PfSense - I must be a moron but I've tried several times to configure it with little success.
IPCop - even worse for me for configuration
Untangled - LOVED this setup but no possible way (that I could find) to route traffic to PIA despite supporting OpenVPN
Windows 7 - this is the next option I suppose. Set it up to use PIA and then share the connection. Clunky though I imagine.
I'm still in my return window for the N66U as well and can get the AC66U or N7000 if that'll make a big and easier difference. I'm not above working at this to not spend more money but that being said I'd really like it to just work as well!!
Thanks!

I have a subscription to privateinternetaccess VPN tunnel service.
- Using an Asus RT-N66U and an Airport Extreme
- ISP through Telus in Canada and the Actiontec modem is bridged
