I'm just trying out DD-WRT for the first time on the AC87, is there any settings I should know about regarding Wifi to optimize speed/reliability?

Strange that it is impossible to set the channel width to 80 mhz on the 5 ghz band.

I can't get 5GHz wifi to turn on for some reason 2.4GHz is fine. Any ideas? Should I do a reset or something after I flashed, cause I didn't.

I'm sure a reset is required. Just make sure you don't use a config file to restore your settings with, set it up manually and minimally to secure the router and connect to your ISP.
