DDNS dnsomatic not working on ASUS RT-AC56U

I read in another thread that updating to a newer firmware fixed the issue, which seems to be that dnsomatic switched to https only updating. In the logs I can see that my router is requesting the IP update on port 80.
Sadly I cannot find a newer firmware version and the current one is from 2018.
Is there any hope that this might get fixed for my older device as well?

Have you tried the LTS (Long Term Service) fork of Asuswrt-Merlin.

Thank you so much! I just did the "downgrade" to this fork and the issue seems to be fixed.

You could also install Inadyn from Entware, and manually set it up.
