Dead Link

Exactly my point. They may have fixed it and he didn't or missed it. I don't have current stock to compare.
Like I said, he doesn't fix those kind of errors himself. If Asus fixes them then they will be picked up when he merges the relevant GPL into his build. So it's an issue for Asus, not Merlin.

So what if he left it and they fixed it?

Merlin firmware would cease so you wouldn't have to be worried about the "dead link".

And, if you looked more closely you would realise that the link is LIVE, the error message received is caused by the page no longer being available on the ASUS website so obviously it is an issue that only ASUS can address.

No? Asus can make mistakes and they have a whole team of people. Merlin can make mistakes too and he’s just... him. Which is a more likely scenario for a mistake in your opinion?

This is the link Asus has in their most recent GPL. If their web team changed the URL, then they will have to notify the dev team as to what's the new URL, so they can fix it within a future release, which will then get merged by me once that future release has a GPL drop available, and the whole GPL drop gets merged into my repo.

It's not the first time their web team has mage website changes, and it took a while for that change to get applied to the firmware code. It's just a FAQ, nothing will "stop working" until they do.

Or... the link wasn’t removed or updated?

Both are possible. Obviously. ;)

Regardless, the link my firmware has is the exact same link Asus has in their latest firmware release. So no, I did not make a mistake or miss anything. It will get fixed once they fix it on their end, and the rest of that updated code gets merged in.

If you say it is their error I believe you... but it wouldn’t be the first time you “mage” a mistake either (see above) so it wasn’t an unreasonable question. [emoji2369]

Their QC sucks huh?

Imagine if the <company> web team were aware of such links in their software products and would notify the dev team of upcoming changes. Or the web team could simply add redirects to the new location on the web server.
What a world this could be.
But then, imagine if there were search engines that one could insert a string of key words and it would list all the results it found.

It will get fixed once they fix it on their end, and the rest of that updated code gets merged in.

I tried to report it but I was unable to log in. I even made a second account and no luck

If you have a way to report it I would appreciate it. Thanks for all you do.
