Did the BE98 Pro ever get it's AFC firmware update?

I've been watching for the Asus GT-BE19000 with AFC to arrive in the US, but it was also supposedly confirmed that the BE98 Pro was getting AFC before the EOY 2024. Did this ever happen? I'm not updating until something has AFC.

I feel the same way also was gonna make the same post. Never buy a product based on a future feature promise. I was ready to upgrade my router to get ahead of the tariff but disappointed to see the feature is not enable and there's no status when it will happen if at all.

Looking at the FCC filing I think they're waiting for approval AFC update via firmware. I think the application got the authorization on 3/18/2025. Maybe they'll enable it in the next firmware. They had a filing for 2 new HW revision last year with and without a barometric pressure sensor. I wonder if the AFC update will be available all revision or just the new ones.
"Class II Permissive Change: Adds Wi-Fi and Barometric position geolocation method via firmware. Adds additional power adapter."

I found Asus added a FAQ privacy notice for 6g AFC. Could be a sign AFC is coming soon.

"6G AFC service (only available in certain countries)"

Does anyone know what countries will be on the list?
I am currently in EU with 2 x GT-BE98 PRO models and don't know what to expect

This Pro model is not the right one for EU region to begin with.
I know that, I spend majority of time in US, but some in EU and I take my routers with me.
Again, my question was if we know what countries will be "participating" in AFC?

This is what we have so far:

United States and Canada...

In regards to Tariffs, Asus doesnt manufacture these in china. They manufacture in vietnam/mexico mainly. I think the routers are vietnam.

"Currently, ASUS routers only support AFC function in the United States."

Offended. Must be available in IC (Industry Canada) region as well. 🤪

UniFi APs with AFC capability (E7 series):

They would probably need to have the device validated within Canada separately I suspect, or apply for a Canadian licence, which might be why it's US-only at least for the time being.

Well I ran out and bought the GS-BE18000 because it was released with AFC, or so I thought.

FAQ says it's supposed to be on the Wireless page under 6GHz https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1054880/

Not there, yet. Pretty annoying. I feel like I've been chasing the AFC dream for quite some time now. I did notice they don't have AFC listed on the box, but the website has AFC plastered all over it for this model from the product page to the FAQs.

May keep this one because it did work immediately with my AT&T Fiber connection unlike the BE96U that I tried, and I like the price on this model. I don't need that $800 AI router that's coming soon. Got a few days to decide to keep or return.

Have you tried this:

"Router Settings: Verify that your router settings are correctly configured for AFC. This includes ensuring that it is set to the appropriate bandwidth and channels supported by AFC. If you want your device to use AFC, it is recommended to adjust the 6GHz bandwidth to 160MHz, 80MHz, or 40MHz to match the channels allowed by AFC."

I just tried setting 6GHz to each of those and no change. Good suggestion though, thank you.

Umm. Anybody notice this tidbit? Have you installed the app on your phone so it can geolocate you?

Under why it is not working:
3. Location Permissions: Just make sure your phone is connected to the router’s Wi-Fi, and you’ve allowed the app to access your location. The AFC system uses this information to determine the router's location.

I did that too, I use an iPhone 12 which has "precise location" available. I enabled precise and tried both the "when shared" and "when using the app" permission.

I also tried to see if the Asus Router app has the option and if it's just the web interface that has it missing. Not in the app either.
