Difference in these Shibby builds (AC or N)

I'm running shibby112 on my N66U and noticed there was a new build (116). It looks as though I can load the normal 116 through the K26RT-N area but it looks like there is a build for the N66U in the K26RT-AC area. They are different sizes for the same build names.
Is it just one fw for both N66U and the AC66U?
If they are the same why does he still build the the N66U version?

I haven't looked at them, but I suspect the "regular" N66 build uses the 5.100 driver, while the AC build uses the 6.30 driver.

The (older) 5.100 will give you better wireless coverage than 6.30.

The newest K26RT-N build 116 uses BCM 5.110 drivers which is known to have issues. The K26RT-AC build uses BCM 6.30 drivers which is good but reportedly lowers coverage range. If you want to update, then I would suggest you go with build 115 (which still uses the stable BCM 5.100 drivers) under the K26RT-N branch. Otherwise just stay with your current firmware.

I just updated to the N 116 build but if that has issues then I'll move over to the AC 116. I assume it would be smart to do a 30/30/30 although I'd rather not enter all my settings again.
What issues are people having with the 5.110 drivers?

Most Intel wifi interfaces are unable to connect reliably to it. A few other manufacturers also have major issues with it.

Thx for the help. I did have problems with 5.110 driver so I went with the AC build with the 6.30 driver.

One other quick question. I also have a Linksys E3000. Currently it's on 108. I don't want to have the same issue as my ASUS so I will avoid 116. I've seen some posts about slowdowns in 115. So what is my best option for this router? Stay with 108 or go to 114 or another version?
