The specs listed on SBF is wrong, the router doesn't have 512mb of ram, D-link said ram is 256mb of ram.
even so d-link products are bad in general. Bad hardware and firmware and most importantly bad security.

They even store your passwords as plaintext.
thats really bad, but its a good thing i dont use consumer routers as routers. i do know that at one point mikrotik did store passwords as plaintext and winbox being their weak link but they fixed all that As long as you still arent using routerOS 3 . The consumer brands being in business way longer with way more resources still havent fixed it even though they use linux as a base. The issue with dlink isnt just about storing passwords as text but also being able to retrieve them without any sort of authentication like using a url link on the router.Unfortunately, so do many other SOHO router manufacturers, including Asus![]()
