Do I need a LACP router to go with a LACP switch?

Hello,

I have the following four (4) components:

1. Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer Mobo with LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad
2. HP ProCurve 1810G-24 Switch with LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad
3. QNAP TS-809 Pro NAS with LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad, and
4. Linksys/Cisco WRT610N Ver 2 Router - Does NOT have LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad.

Every time I attempt to enable LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad on the switch, computer or NAS, my system disconnects from the router.

My question is: Does the router has to have LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad in order to work with the other items?

If the answer is no, what do I have to do to get the router to recognize the LACP, IEEE standard 802.3ad items?

If the answer is yes, what router would you suggest I can replace the WRT610n with?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

You do not need a LACP router. I have my server setup with LACP to my GS108T switch and don't have any problems connecting to the internet (Linksys WRT54G Router) or any other computer on my network.

Just remember that you need to enable LACP on both the switch and the server/client. In my case I setup my switch ports first which caused my server to loose its network connection. Then I setup the server. After about 30 seconds the network was back up with LACP enabled.

I will admit once the system lost connection to the router and internet, i didn't wait 30 seconds...

I will try it now and see if it come back up.

Thanks for your reply.
